Jordan

Jordan is just 10 years old and he lives alone with his father, we met Jordan after he was referred due to fear for his Dad’s health during the pandemic, fear that if something happened to him he may be taken into care. His survival response was expressed through anger which his Dad was struggling to manage.

Face-to-face dramatherapy helped Jordan to feel in charge and stabilised –in therapy sessions he disclosed the overwhelming feelings he was experiencing: “I don’t know for sure that we will all be ok.” Alongside Jordan’s therapy, his Dad was supported online and given parenting strategies to understand and help regulate Jordan‘s behaviour.

Sadly, Jordan’s fears have been realised after his father was admitted to hospital acutely unwell. Jordan has been placed in the care of a friend for the short-term while his father remains in hospital.  Kids Inspire continue to support Jordan.

Jordan does not yet know what the future holds, but he has told us how proud he is of himself using his tools gifted to him during therapy – he remains as strong as can be and is taking one day at a time.
