The Kids Inspire press office can provide journalists with information and comment on a wide range of issues relating to children and young people’s mental health, trauma caused by significant life events and the work of Kids Inspire.

Key Statistics

1 May 2022 and 30 April 2023

  • 7363 people were reached through our core services, outreach/engagement, volunteering and fundraising

  • 4032 people were supported by therapy, mentoring, groups and consultations

  • 56.8% of referred cases had 4+ presenting issues – an increase of 13.2% on the previous year. Which remains consistently higher than 2019

  • Each case has a child at its centre: 90% are 5-15 years old, 7.14% 16-18 and receives a package of support consisting of one or more of the following:

    • Creative Arts Therapies: including Drama, Integrative Arts, Music, Dance & Movement, and Play

    • Trauma Resolution Therapies: including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Children’s Accelerated Trauma Treatment (CATT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Theraplay, Somatic Experiencing (SE) and NeuroAffective Touch

    • Family Therapy

    • Other Talk Therapies: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic Counselling

    • Groups: CREW, EPIC, NVR, The Voice.

  • Our 302 volunteers gifted 6305 hours of their time.
