Community Outreach
Supporting our local community through outreach is a vital part of our mission. We offer various community support services through outreach. Learn more about our work in the community on this page.
Thousands of hours of creative fun, outdoor adventures, festive giving, wellbeing activities, and community engagement have been enjoyed thanks to our community outreach work.
Often, activities take place at our Kids Inspire HQ, but also schools and other locations across Essex and parts of Suffolk.
How do we do this?
“It was comforting to know that they both had someone to talk to outside of the family during challenging times. ”
Facilitated support
Our popular mentoring scheme and "The Voice" peer support group for young people are open to referrals from the community or directly from our therapy team. Both projects provide opportunities for young people to test their emotional resilience tools while being supported in a safe space.
Mentoring
For children and young people age 8+
Mentors and mentees meet weekly
A trained Volunteer Mentor is a positive role model or a ‘professional friend’ to their mentee.
The relationship aims to build confidence and resilience and to improve emotional wellbeing.
The Mentor will receive professional training before being matched with a mentee.
The Voice
For young people age 13+
The Voice is a relaxed group for young people to meet, catch up and be proactive in their discussions about mental health.
Fortnightly, it is a space for socialising with relatable peers, which over time can support a young person to build new skills.
Sessions offer the opportunity to actively engage and can be a step-down support network for young people who have received therapy, or for siblings of service receivers.
