Kids Inspire in Essex

Children’s mental health charity in Essex

At Kids Inspire we are dedicated to supporting children and young people as they overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and build brighter futures within their communities.

Proudly founded in Essex in 2007, and as one of the county’s leading children’s mental health charities, we provide free, expert trauma support to those who might otherwise go without it.

Our child-centred approach is dedicated to understanding and enhancing children's mental health and emotional wellbeing. Working across Essex, our team collaborates with families, educators, and community leaders to help children and young people thrive and reach their full potential.

As the demand for mental health support increases each year, we have expanded our services to support communities in Suffolk.

Training opportunities

Did you know we deliver expert training for parents, carers, and child support professionals?

Our unique support extends to families, empowering parents and carers to regulate their emotions and behaviours. This enables them to better connect with and guide their children, fostering stronger, healthier relationships.

What services do we offer in Essex

With the child at the centre of our support, we also emphasise the importance of family and surrounding systems (school, friendships, etc) to help children recover from trauma and thrive

Our projects in Essex focus on:

Therapeutic services:

We offer creative therapies for children in schools, with 10 to 40 sessions tailored to each child's unique needs. These sessions help children process difficult emotions, build self-confidence, and develop resilience.

Our therapy addresses various emotional and behavioural challenges, including trauma, anxiety, and loss. We recognise each child's uniqueness and provide a personalised approach to foster healing and growth.

Family support:

Our tailored approach includes vital family support, offering a safe, non-judgmental space for parents and carers to learn skills that improve communication and relationships. Through group or one-to-one sessions, we advocate for the child and provide interactive, educational support.

Sessions empower families with the skills and confidence to support their child's mental health.

Community outreach and engagement:

We harness the power of local communities to drive change. Through school assemblies, workshops, partnerships, and community events, we connect with children, parents, and caregivers to offer mental health resources, build resilience, and promote wellbeing.

In 2024, we expanded our services to Suffolk, addressing the increasing demand for mental health support in local schools and communities.
