The ‘Kids Who Lunch’ Club Drumming Workshop

The ‘Kids Who Lunch’ Club reached new levels of excitement and creativity last week when drum warrior Shovell (of M People fame) came to Kids Inspire…

Shovell came to Kids Inspire HQ well prepared last Wednesday, filling up the art therapy room with a multitude of drums and percussion instruments for the kids to experiment with. And experiment they did! Shovell created a space in which the kids could explore musical creativity with complete freedom; the joy that filled Kids Inspire HQ was almost palpable.

Meanwhile, an art & craft activity also took place for Kids Inspire’s ‘Kids Who Lunch’ club. This week the kids were making rainbow jellyfish, using colourful ribbon and string for the tentacles. The kids loved being really imaginative with this activity; taking home some beautiful  creations.

And it wasn’t just the kids having a great time: Kids Inspire’s fantastic volunteers also enjoyed themselves immensely. Corporate volunteers from Natwest Chelmsford and Pure Resources obviously gained a lot from engaging with the kids during their activities and during lunch-time. Regular Kids Inspire supporters and young people completing their National Citizenship Service also gave their time to help out. As always, Kids Inspire would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gives up their free time to volunteer for Kids Inspire – you have made a huge difference to Kids Inspire and the families who benefit from our services.
