KFC FOUNDATION GO THE EXTRA MILE

Volunteering and funding has made for an inspirational combination by the KFC Foundation – one of Kids Inspire’s valued Corporate funders – this week.

Handing Kids Inspire an incredible grant of over £20,000 (spread over two years up until 2020) was not enough for the East Anglian KFC team, who additionally volunteered a number of hours to Kids Inspire this week too. The grant has come from activities organised by staff and customer fundraising at KFC restaurants across East Anglia.

In addition, the expert fundraising team came into the Chelmsford Head Office this week to really get to know the charity they fundraise for. The team volunteered to wrap and deliver presents as a part of the annual Christmas Appeal.

Volunteering with the team this week was, Corporate Social Responsibility Leader, Louise Norris, who said:  “The KFC Team have come in this week to volunteer at the big Kids Inspire Christmas Appeal Wrap because we want to develop real partnerships with the charities we work with that go beyond just funding. The KFC Foundation has taken the decision to support Kids Inspire until 2020 because the amazing work that they do is so closely aligned with the values of the Foundation in terms of providing safe spaces, coaching and mentoring for young people and their families.”

Sue Bell, CEO and Founder of Kids Inspire commented: “This gift from the KFC Foundation will make such a big difference to the children, and their families, that we work with. Our Reclaiming Lives project offers us the most flexibility to not just treat the symptoms of the child at the centre of a referral but also to address underlying cause.

“To some children, and their families, that we work with Kids Inspire is a haven – a haven from low self-esteem, anxiety, emerging depression, emotional issues, or from traumatic complex needs. To continue to be this haven, to help us reclaim lives and rebuild futures, we always welcome the gifted support from wonderful organisations such as the Foundation. Thank you.”
