UK Running Events – Inflatable 5K (1st & 2nd July 2017)
UK Running Events’ fantastic Inflatable 5K event went off with a bang last weekend! Entrants and volunteers alike were in great spirits, enjoying the sun and getting stuck in to the incredible assault course, made up of some of the world’s largest inflatable obstacles.
This event saw Kids Inspire supporters out in full force, with Father/Daughter team Mark and Poppy Lord completing the Inflatable 5K challenge to raise vital funds for families in need.
Local fitness group Shimmy ‘n’ Groove also braved the giant obstacles in support of Kids Inspire, along with the Diss family, who ran the gauntlet together in their brand new Kids Inspire running vests.
In addition to those taking part in the obstacle course, Kids Inspire’s dedicated volunteers were also on hand to offer their support. Long-term mentor and regular Kids Inspire volunteer Joseph Langworthy (voted Volunteer of the Month for May) did a brilliant job manning one of the inflatable obstacles, whilst staff from White Stuff (Chelmsford) and KFC managed the water station and bag drop. As well as seeing some familiar faces, such as CCHS sixth-formers Katherine and Imogen, it was wonderful to see some new faces, too, with recent recruits Nikki and husband John volunteering on behalf of Kids Inspire.
All sponsorship raised by our fantastic supporters from this event will go towards enabling Kids Inspire to deliver bespoke, specialist therapeutic intervention to children and young people in Essex.
Thank you to everyone who supported Kids Inspire at this event – your kindness and enthusiasm are always appreciated.
