100 acts of kindness for the Captain Tom 100 Challenge

30 April to 3 May would've been Captain Tom's 101st birthday, in honour of this, individuals and teams across the UK challenged themselves to do 100 of something.

Our team completed over 100 acts of kindness during the weekend 💙

Friday

  • The Fundraising Team baked cakes for our loyal supporter and volunteer gardener Martyn

  • Marketing and Communications Assistant, Zoe, wrote individual thank you notes to her four closest friends, to let them know they are appreciated

  • Events Fundraiser, Rachael, bought colleague Ellie a tasty lunch

  • Head of Fundraising, Paula, bought colleague Rachael a chocolate bar

  • Our Bid Writer, Janice, called an elderly neighbour for a catch-up chat

  • The Communications Team wrote supportive notes on their office door to cheer up passers-by

  • Emily, Marketing and Communications Officer, made colleague Zoe a lovely cup of tea

  • Adult Therapist, Lisa, gave some art to a local children’s centre

  • Corporate Fundraiser, Katharine, put together a veg box for a close friend and donated a mask to KI Ambassador, Jillian at Five Lakes

Saturday

  • Volunteer Co-ordinator, Louise, and her pet dog Ziggy baked some dog treats for their furry friends

  • Rachael, our Events Fundraiser, has been unstoppable, baking cakes for many friends and family members

  • Claire, our Mentoring Administrator, left a present on the doorstop of a friend

  • Play Therapist, Sue Gowing, bought a Batman Mask, made and donated by supporter Liz to give to a friend, to show them her appreciation

  • Rachael also gifted some doughnuts to the local fire brigade

  • Dramatherapist, Jasmine, is cooking for her partner (the chef of the house) all weekend

Sunday

  • Events Fundraiser, Rachael, dropped off some bird feed to royal photographer, Arthur Edwards, who shared his appreciation on twitter here

  • Corporate Fundraiser, Katharine, baked some Anzac biscuits for her Kiwi friends

  • Beards and Daisies donated plants for colleagues to give away for their acts of kindness, 11 team members received one as a sign of appreciation from a team mate

  • Clerk to the Board of Trustees, Louise, baked and delivered a cake to a close friend

  • Adult Therapist, Lisa, and her therapy friend, Duck, delivered recycling bags and baked a cake for a friend in need

  • Rachael also dropped a grow bag off to friend and supporter, Allison

  • Mentoring Administrator, Claire, dropped off over 80 dog treats over the weekend

Monday

  • Events Fundraiser, Rachael, dropped off plants and sausage rolls from Abigail’s Deli to her parents and delivered a new book to a friend

  • Volunteer Co-ordinator, Louise, also bought and delivered a book to a friend

  • Marketing and Communications Assistant, Zoe, took her close friend out for a tasty Bank Holiday lunch

  • Corporate Fundraiser, Katharine, delivered homemade granola and dog treats to friends over the weekend

  • Paula, Head of Fundraising and Communications, baked smores for volunteer Martyn and his son

  • Adult therapist, Natasha, walked and looked after her friends dog
