Today is our 14th birthday!
Our CEO and Clinical Director, Sue Bell OBE, founded Kids Inspire in 2007 to fill gaps in mental health provision for children and young people in Chelmsford.
14 years later, our 60-strong therapeutic team are providing specialised interventions to thousands of disadvantaged or traumatised children and their families across Essex each year and with demand for our services increasing…we’re not slowing down anytime soon!
Between 1st May 2020- 30th April 2021, we supported a total of 3499 beneficiaries using a broad range of therapeutic methods. Our team are always learning, regularly taking time out to train and skill share. In fact, just this week, they came together in person for the first time in 18-months for an experiential training session which supported their professional development and their wellbeing.
A constant since 2007, has been the importance of our volunteer community. Last year alone they totalled up a whopping 5,276 volunteering hours, despite opportunities being limited due to the pandemic and social distancing restrictions. They have mentored young people, supported our community engagement programmes and provided us with much needed practical support when it was needed most.
Thank you to everyone who has played a part in our 14 year story. Whether you have donated, volunteered, engaged on social media, or worked with us, you have helped to give vulnerable young people in Essex and beyond, the opportunity to live a complete and fulfilling life. Thank you.
Sue Bell OBE, CEO, Founder and Clinical Director passed on these words to all who have played a part over the past 14-years:
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish us all a very happy birthday and many happy returns.
I vividly remember those very early days. We have grown up so much. Still learning. Still with more growing to do. But all of this feels so different because of each and everyone of you. I am so proud of us. Of the young adult that we have become. Of the true measurable difference that we make. Of how we support each other, love and care about each other and how we extend that beyond our organisation and into the communities we support.
Thank you all for all that you do. What ever your role. How ever long you have been part of the KI community. For making the last 14 years so collaborative and awesome.”
