Kids Inspire Attend IAPT’s Wellbeing Day
Yesterday, Kids Inspire attended IAPT’s Wellbeing Day for Mental Health Awareness Week. IAPT stands for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies – a programme which has been developed on a national scale, aiming to deliver psychological therapies to adults experiencing mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress.
IAPT’s Wellbeing Day (hosted at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford) was a hive of activity, making it a very rewarding day for Kids Inspire. It was great to see such a diverse audience taking an interest in mental health, with professionals, students and members of the public of all ages coming along to find out more about the services offering support in their community.
As well as Kids Inspire, a number of other service-providers including Mind, Action for Family Carers, Rethink Mental Illness and Chelmsford Counselling Foundation hosted stalls to spread awareness about the services they provide; tackling the growing issue of poor mental health.
Informative workshops were given throughout the day on topics such as: ‘How relationships impact Mental Health’ by Marriage Care, ‘Stress Management’ by Health in Mind and Get Physical and Thrive by Fitness in Mind. These workshops delivered easy-to-understand information and advice, increasing awareness of mental health issues and the help that can be accessed.
Kids Inspire’s goal is to help the community of Essex to achieve balanced mental health, wellbeing and healthy family relationships. We strive to spread awareness about mental health and ensure that those in need of our help are aware of our services and can access the help they need.
