Introducing the Voice Forum

Our Voice Forum has been awarded a grant from the #iwill Fund, which is managed by Essex Community Foundation. The Fund supports activities which give young people the opportunity to develop their character, build skills and engage them in the community.

Made up of young people aged 13+, the forum is a place for members to communicate with the aim of building a social network of peer support; learn life-skills; and develop confidence to reflect on their own mental well-being.

Meetings take place every two weeks for 1.5 hours during term time (19 meetings a year) and are interactive with some outdoor activities.

Programme outline over the 19 weeks includes:

Group forming, trust building

Communications skills: listening, starting a conversation

Shared story telling

Filming each other
