Become a Community Engagement Volunteer…

…make stronger connections, learn new skills and organise exciting events. Training to be a Community Engagement Volunteer will help to bridge the gap for support into your local area.

*If you are interested in becoming a Community Engagement Volunteer, please email communityengagement@kidsinspire.org.uk to express your interest*

Our team of Community Engagement Volunteers nurture, build, sustain and grow relationships between people, bringing them together for the benefit of children and young people.

Through community volunteering, you can become more connected, actively building relationships through organising community events (fun days, festivals, picnics, meetings) and find new like-minded friends.

Following our “Have your say” event, which will see young people sharing what they would like to see more of in their communities, Community Engagement Volunteers can start to work to fill these gaps.

New volunteers will be invited to attend specialist training, the next series taking place in July 2021.

Find a general schedule for the four sessions here:

  • Week 1: Getting to know each other

  • Week 2: Elements involved in organising an event: why, what, who, how, where, when

  • Week 3: Ideas emerging from the “Have your say” listening enquiry

  • Week 4: Ideas into action

Dedicated Community Volunteer, Kerry, organised a recent event in Basildon where she connected with local families, talking to them about youth mental health and handing out tasty treats.

She said:

“I love nothing more than planning and running fun events for local children and seeing so many happy faces.”
