Kids Inspire is a registered children’s charity that provides emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children, adults, families and organisations across Essex and beyond. The organisations holds several commissioned contracts with the local authority, through health, education and social care. In addition, funds are provided for other specialist projects through grants, trusts and the fundraising activities in the community.
A three-year grant has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Practitioner who is a specialist in trauma therapy.
A member of the senior management team, the post-holder will share responsibility for the development, safe and effective delivery of therapeutic services at Kids Inspire.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Delivering trauma resolution therapies to children, young people and families (1:1, in dyads and/ or groups)
• Supervision of Therapists and placement students
• Development of Post-Adoption treatment plans
• Promotion of trauma-informed practice to advance the charity’s mission and values
Reporting to: Clinical Director
Salary: To be discussed upon expression of interest
Hours of work: 22.5 hours per week
Location: Initially, to work remotely in line with COVID-19 requirements. However, there will be an expectation to be in the office at Hargrave House (Great Baddow) in the future.
• To hold a Masters qualification in Psychotherapy (or equivalent)
• To hold a qualification specialising in Trauma – EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensory Motor Therapy, DDP or Theraplay (or equivalent)
• To hold a specific qualification to support children, adolescents and / or families
• To be UKCP/BACP/HCPC accredited
• To have a minimum of 10 years clinical experience

Kids Inspire is a registered children’s charity that helps young people and their families in Essex. We are currently seeking to expand our team and are looking to recruit specialist child, adolescent or adult trained counsellors and psychotherapists willing to work across Essex.
It is essential that applicants are car drivers.
Kids Inspire offers bespoke holistic therapeutic services to children, young people and their families. Our referrals come from schools, support hubs, CCG’s, social care and families themselves. Therapeutic work takes place at our head office in Chelmsford and at various other locations across Essex. In addition to therapy and counselling, Kids Inspire also provides a mentoring service, coaching, social work and complementary therapies.
Our current clinical team includes a range of qualified practitioners as well as psychotherapists and counsellors in training. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to offer interventions on a time limited (up to 12 sessions) and more open ended basis. Initially you will be self-employed and will have a minimum of 5 client hours/week available for Kids Inspire.
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are trained in the following: Theraplay, DDP, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Therapy and EMDR. Counsellors must hold membership of BACP/UKCP/HCPC/ACP.
Rate of Pay – You will be paid a sessional rate at a level commensurate of your experience and qualifications. This will be discussed at interview.

Kids Inspire offer supported placements to counselling and psychotherapy trainees. Clinical Supervision is available if required with UKCP/BACP/HCPC supervisors. In addition students are provided with a case manager and are given opportunities to take place in peer supervision groups.
