Counsellors – qualified

 Kids Inspire is a registered children’s charity that helps young people and their families in Essex. We are currently seeking to expand our team and are looking to recruit specialist child, adolescent or adult trained counsellors and psychotherapists willing to workacross Essex. It is essential that applicants are car drivers.

Kids Inspire offers bespoke holistic therapeutic services to children, young people and their families.  Our referrals come from schools, support hubs, CCG’s, social care and families themselves.  Therapeutic work takes place at our head office in Chelmsford and at various other locations across Essex. In addition to therapy and counselling, Kids Inspire also provides a mentoring service, coaching, social work and complementary therapies. 

 Our current clinical team includes a range of qualified practitioners as well as psychotherapists and counsellors in training.  You will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to offer interventions on a time limited (up to 12 sessions) and more open ended basis.  Initially you will be self-employed and will have a minimum of 7.5 hours available for Kids Inspire clients. 

 We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are trained in the following: Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, Creative Therapies, Theraplay, DDP, Somatic Experiencing and EMDR and who live close to West (Uttlesford, Epping Forest and Harlow), South (Basildon, Brentwood and Billericay) and North (Colchester and Clacton).  Counsellors must hold membership of BACP/UKCP/HCPC/ACP.

Rate of Pay –Pay will be discussed at interview and agreed upon job offer.

Placement Opportunities

 Kids Inspire offer supported placements to counselling and psychotherapy trainees.  Clinical Supervision is available if required with UKCP/BACP/HCPC supervisors.  In addition students are provided with a case manager and are given opportunities to take place in peer supervision groups.

VOLUNTEERING ROLE: Graphic Designer & Photo Editor

This volunteering role is ideal for someone with creative flair who is looking to gain valuable work experience in a charity.

You will be studying graphic design or have been a graphic designer. This volunteering role may also appeal to someone returning to work who wants to rebuild their portfolio.

Time Commitment: Flexible hours to be agreed – equivalent to one day a week (minimum)

Location: Flexible to include Kids Inspire Head Office, Fox Crescent, Chelmsford, CM1 2BN

Main tasks:

  • To design new artwork and amend brand literature and artwork for Kids Inspire using brand guidelines and templates. This will include flyers, posters, leaflets and graphics for digital use.
  • The role will also extend to the creation of visual stories and quotes for use on the website and social media, to include editing photos to ensure maximum impact.
  • Any other duties as designated by the Fundraising Manager or Marketing & Communications Officer

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A friendly person who is a team player – able to work independently and part of a team
  • Has a knowledge and experience of graphic design with access to a design package
  • Can prepare design work ready for print
  • Able to work from and interpret a brief
  • Able to bring creativity and flair with good communication skills
  • Someone who can act in a professional manner and understands the need for confidentiality
