Music Tutor:

Kids Inspire has been commissioned to run an extended workshop for up to 20 young people (13 to 19 years old) called Sing My Own Song.

The young people will learn about writing song lyrics, making music, expressing their feelings and views of the world in their own way, testing out different ideas and musical forms.  They will practice and develop their skills and talents.  At the end of the 15 weeks they will perform their work in a public venue.

Hours of work:     3 hours per session x 15 weeks, plus 6 hours for performance

Duration:     April to July 2020

Location:     Hermit Youth Service Offices, central Brentwood, Essex

Required:    Enhanced portable DBS will be required. To be willing to undertake online safeguarding training and to supply two professional references

Rate of pay:     Contracted by the hour, £25 – £30 per hour dependent on experience

Mentoring Co-Ordinator

Kids Inspire delivers services to support children, young people and their families, from 0-25. Kids Inspire is responsible for the Family Innovation Fund 1:1 Coaching and Mentoring contract across Essex, which has the purpose of improving outcomes for children, young people and their families to:

• have healthy inter-parental & family relationships
• be emotionally healthy, happy and resilient
• make behaviour choices that promote safety and wellbeing
• be socially connected and resourceful

Kids Inspire provides longer term mentoring through a variety of funding streams, including Reaching Communities, The Big Lottery.

The main purpose of the role is to co-ordinate the activities needed to provide mentoring opportunities to children and young people. This will include generating mentoring referrals, allocating cases supporting the mentoring supervisors, working as part of a team in the delivery of training, providing the administration support needed to develop the mentoring project. Partnership working and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of families and the service are key to this role.

Reporting to:     Clinical Director

Salary:      To be discussed upon expression of interest

Hours of work:      20 hours per week

Location:       To work across Essex with office base at Kids Inspire Head Office, Hargrave House, CM2 7FW

Counsellors – qualified

Specialist child, adolescent or adult trained counsellors and psychotherapists 

Kids Inspire is a registered children’s charity that helps young people and their families in Essex. We are currently seeking to expand our team and are looking to recruit specialist child, adolescent or adult trained counsellors and psychotherapists willing to work across Essex.

It is essential that applicants are car drivers.

Kids Inspire offers bespoke holistic therapeutic services to children, young people and their families.  Our referrals come from schools, support hubs, CCG’s, social care and families themselves.  Therapeutic work takes place at our head office in Chelmsford and at various other locations across Essex. In addition to therapy and counselling, Kids Inspire also provides a mentoring service, coaching, social work and complementary therapies. 

Our current clinical team includes a range of qualified practitioners as well as psychotherapists and counsellors in training.  You will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to offer interventions on a time limited (up to 12 sessions) and more open ended basis.  Initially you will be self-employed and will have a minimum of 5 client hours/week available for Kids Inspire. 

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are trained in the following: Theraplay, DDP, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Therapy and EMDR. Counsellors must hold membership of BACP/UKCP/HCPC/ACP.

Rate of Pay You will be paid a sessional rate at a level commensurate of your experience and qualifications.  This will be discussed at interview.

Placement Opportunities 

Kids Inspire offer supported placements to counselling and psychotherapy trainees.  Clinical Supervision is available if required with UKCP/BACP/HCPC supervisors.  In addition students are provided with a case manager and are given opportunities to take place in peer supervision groups.

 Volunteer/Placement Opportunities

We welcome applications from trainee and qualified clinicians as listed above willing to offer their time voluntarily in order to gain knowledge, skills, and experience in working with our client groups.
