World Suicide Prevention Day

With suicide the biggest killer of young people in the UK and sadly suicide rates in Essex on the increase, specialist mental health support for young people is needed more than ever.

Our Talk Together programme supports the needs of children, young people and their families from early intervention right through to more complex cases, including those with suicidal thoughts or self-harming actions.

“Most of the work we deliver is early intervention. People currently need some help to stabilise and we have been giving them tools to help them do that”- Kids Inspire therapist

In offering these tools to the young people we work with, we can help them to build resilience, self-awareness and relationship building, empowering them to make more positive life choices.

Emma Dawson, Headteacher of Thundersley Primary School said: “It is a sad fact that the number of children and young people presenting with issues such as anxiety, self-harm and suicidal thoughts is on the increase. Mental health support in education and other services is under mounting pressure due to increased need and less funding.”
