Remember a Charity Week 2022
We know it can be difficult to think about the future and decide what to do with your will. However, leaving a gift to a charity like Kids Inspire will help us continue being there for young people and their families. We are eternally grateful for all the legacy donations we have received over the years and need your support more than ever in 2022.
Remember A Charity brings together 200 of the UK's favourite charities to help them continue their excellent work, long into the future.
Their annual 'Remember A Charity Week' campaign takes place on 5th - 11th September 2022, encouraging more people to consider leaving a gift to charity in their Will, after taking care of loved ones. Leaving a gift in your Will to Kids Inspire, is the ultimate way to pass on something incredible for generations to come.
As a local children's charity, we don't often appeal or speak about leaving a gift or 'legacy' donation, as we understand it's a sensitive subject and not something people want to plan for. However, the impact a gift from you could have on many young people (and their families) recovering from traumatic experiences or dealing with emerging mental health issues is transformational.
One in three mental health problems sadly stems from traumatic childhood experiences. This could be abuse, neglect, sudden bereavement, a physical accident, or other major life transitions.
Kids Inspire is now in its 15th year, after it was founded in 2007 with the aim that no young person, in Essex, who has experienced trauma should be left unsupported. Since then, we have been able to help over 6000 children, young people and their families with our therapeutic services. Our support to referred young people uses many traditional and innovative therapies. Working holistically with families, each case is individually assessed, and a bespoke treatment plan is created.
Due to a combination of social media influences, Covid-19 and the national lockdowns, we are seeing more young people than ever experience extreme anxiety, self-harm, disordered eating, and suicidal ideation. Unfortunately, Georgia's story below is just one of many young people in a similar circumstance.
Leaving us a gift in your Will could make a real difference to so many young people like Georgia (and their families) that are recovering from traumatic experiences or dealing with emerging mental health issues.
Your legacy donation can help reclaim a young person's life locally to you. The donations received will be used towards supporting children and young people affected by traumatic experiences and, in particular, bereavement. The funds raised will ensure we continue this vital work, and we hope you will find comfort in knowing that other families will be supported because of your generosity.
