Kids Inspire’s #EggslporeChelmsford Event

The Mayor, Councillor Patricia Hughes, and her Deputy, Councillor Linda Denston, joined Kids Inspire and LOTS of excited children in the city centre last April for a day of Charity Egg Hunting as part of Kids Inspire’s #EggslporeChelmsford event.

Starting from Market Square, clues led families on a fun tour of Chelmsford stopping to find eggs hidden in the Ideas Hub, Lush, White Stuff, Starbucks and Chelmsford Cathedral.

Funds raised by #EggsploreChelmsford will help towards them reaching more young people in need.

Fundraising Manager Alice Langley said

‘It’s great to host an event in the city centre and to see so many families out enjoying themselves in the sunshine. There has been a real buzz here this afternoon, and it was an honor to have the Mayor with us to meet the children and pick out our winners’.

The overall winner received a bumper family fun pack including restaurant vouchers and tickets to a number of Essex attractions and each of the runners-up took home a range of prizes such as Lush goodies and Marsh Farm tickets.

Kids Inspire Community Fundraiser Caitlin Barnes-Davies praised the volunteers who helped on the day saying

‘We were so pleased to have a great response from volunteers, who were happy to get stuck in and make the event as enjoyable as possible for families taking part. We are already thinking about next event for May half term!’
