Generous Rotary groups; Chelmsford Rivermead, Chelmsford Phoenix, Chelmsford, Chelmsford Mildmay, Chelmer Bridge and Ingatestone, this week visited Kids Inspire HQ for a tour and update.

Collectively, the groups generously donated towards new flooring and lighting in a well-used activity room at Hargrave House. The space is perfect for hosting community activities including the Christmas Appeal, Christmas Party and Lunch Club.

The tour was hosted by Fundraising Manager, Paula Ashfield, who told representatives from the Rotary groups about the severity of the clinical work that Kids Inspire do, including therapeutic plans for children and young people who self-harm or who are experiencing suicidal ideation.

Paula explained that:

“Uniquely, Kids Inspire work closely with the parents and extended families of children or young people who are experiencing emerging mental health difficulties. We do this because over our 12 years of services, we have found that it provides the most sustainable support for the child at the centre of each case.

Paula went on to say:

“Funds that come in primarily go towards our services and operations, so we welcomed this generous donation for refurbishment. This room is important to our extended community offering and wasn’t fit for purpose before. It helps us to continue offering activities such as Lunch Club and the Christmas Appeal, and it keeps them separate from our core clinical work.”

At the end of the visit, Tony Stringer from Chelmsford Rivermead Rotary, said:

“Thank you to all the team at Kids Inspire for all you do.  And thanks too, to all the clubs that have provided funds for both the flooring and the lighting at Hargrave House.”
