Celebrating 13 years of partnership: Baker Labels and Kids Inspire

2024 marks a significant milestone, as we celebrate 13 years of partnership with our longest-standing corporate supporter, Baker Labels. Over this time, their support has grown in both magnitude and impact, encompassing much more than financial contributions. Everything they do helps us reach more children and families, and this blog showcases the different ways they help make this happen.

The beginning of a great partnership

Rachael, who joined the charity 13 years ago, initiated our partnership with Baker Labels. After being introduced to Managing Director, Steve Baker, she was warmly welcomed into their new offices and factory in Brentwood. This first meeting led to an initial donation of £2,000 from a golf day they hosted, along with a commitment to supply branded stickers and labels for our fundraising team. This was just the start of an incredible corporate partnership that’s truly stood the test of time.

Why do Baker Labels support Kids Inspire?

As a family-run business, Baker Labels has always been passionate about giving back. Since relocating to Brentwood, Essex in 2011, they have prioritised charity and community engagement through:

·       financial donations

·       fundraising

·       volunteering

·       sponsorship

·       supplying printed materials

This dedication has allowed their staff to learn about the amazing work charities do, and feel more connected to the causes that Baker Labels’ supports through their generous donations.

We are fortunate to have been one of Baker Labels’ chosen charities for the past 13 years, and to date, the company has donated a total of around £100,000 to us. Baker Labels also supports other charities such as Aching Arms, Brentwood Foodbank and SNAP.

How have Baker Labels continued to support us?

Over the years, Baker Labels have remained a loyal supporter. Here's a closer look at some of the various impactful ways they've continued to support us.

Sponsoring and getting involved in events

They have not only sponsored events such as our Golf Days and our Gala Ball, but they are also a constant presence. They are not afraid to take on a challenge. Next month they will join our Essex to Amsterdam cycle ride, continuing their tradition of participating in all our overseas challenges. Steve and son, Harry completed our 2022 London to Paris ride!

Volunteering their time

Volunteering at Holiday Clubs

Employees from Baker Labels have gifted their time to support with the running of events such as our Holiday Clubs, and one of our biggest campaigns every year - our Christmas Appeal. Different members of the company have spent many hours wrapping and delivering presents (as well as donating them) to give a brighter festive season to children and families within the Essex community.

Providing labels free of charge

True to their name, Baker Labels has always supplied us with free labels and stickers, ensuring our brand is visible and our work as children’s mental health charity reaches far and wide. These labels are used for things such as coin collection pots which are placed in various locations around Essex.

Donating a percentage of their profits

For the second year, Baker Labels has donated a percentage of their profits to Kids Inspire. Through the Bakers Foundation, established last year as part of the company’s 50th anniversary, they have structured their charitable support. Last year alone, they donated an impressive total of £150,000 to charities they support. Unrestricted funding like this from businesses allows us to allocate money where it's needed the most.

The importance of corporate support

Support from businesses like Baker Labels is crucial to our mission at Kids Inspire. Their dedication and generosity provide a sense of security for our charity, and helps us build a strong community, making a lasting impact. Baker Labels are passionate about what we do, and want to make a difference, and this itself grows awareness of our charity and work. We are deeply grateful for their consistent support over the past 13 years. Here’s to celebrating this milestone and looking forward to many more years to come.
